Nobody can stop natural disaster, we are the cause and we are the remedy
Six people were killed by Hudhud cyclone in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha and Vishakhapatnam. Hudhud beat-up, striked down electricity and telephone poles, destroyed buildings and uprooted trees with strong winds blowing at almost 200 km per hour on Sunday. Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and parts of Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal are expected to have heavy rain.
On october 6, Hudhud originated from a stumpy pressure that formed under the weight of an upper-air cyclonic circulation in the Andaman Sea. The system drifted westward and intensified into a depression and then into a deep depression the following day. Due to favorable environmental conditions, Hudhud intensified into a cyclonic storm on October 8. Its convection consolidated in the following hours, and Hudhud became a Severe Cyclonic Storm on October 9. Hudhud underwent rapid deepening in the following days and was off the record as a Very harsh Cyclonic Storm by the IMD. Before landfall near Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh on October 12, Hudhud reached its climax might with three minute wind speeds of 175 km/h (109 mph) and a bare minimum central pressure of 960 mbar (28.35 in Hg).
Home of a large naval base, Vishakhapatnam also trapped in this Hudhud, at 11 am on Sunday with winds peaking at all but 195 km per hour. Many people were killed due to collapse of walls and buildings.
Our opinion:
As I stated in the title “Hudhud is just another example of human’s unfriendly behaviour to nature” clarifies that Hudhud or Kashmir flood or any other natural calamity is just a counter of nature as we humans are interfering more in nature and its processes.
According to sources, Kashmir was having nearly 40% of wet land and now barely 4% remains because of encroachment. If we ocupy the natures place then nature will occupy our space. This is how world goes on. For example, earthquakes were not caused by humans but earthquakes are generated by historic movement and seismic activity, but underground mining can result in instability that causes earthquakes. Tornados, hurricanes or cyclones are not caused by humans but then, unnatural human interventions that create ecological imbalance can invite such natural disasters.their activities in areas can make the effect of these worse natural disasters.
