A year has passed away since the communal riots between Hindus and Muslims had taken place in Muzaffarnagar city, the same condition has repeated in the east Delhi part of Trilokpuri where communal riots are going on and curfew has been imposed. According to the Joint Commissioner of DelhiPolice, there was not any such intention to hurt any particular religion’s sentiment; it was done by some 5 teenagers of Trilokpuriwho were badly drunk and hurled the liquor bottles outside the ground where Mata kiChowki was going on. It was just a little spark which has given fire to the whole communal riots between Hindus and Muslims. Moreover after this incident had taken place, some of the Hindus collectively pelted stones at the mosque situated in the local market of Trilokpuri. It was also stated by local residents of Trilokpuri that some outsider goons entered in their area next day and raged them.
“The boys were drinking almost in full public view. So, a few passers-by reprimanded them for consuming alcohol near a place of worship and asked them to leave,” said Sanjay Beniwal, Joint Commissioner of Police (eastern range).
It is just like the riots had taken place in Muzaffarnagar without any reason and thousands of people were murdered last year, this time also the history has repeated once again that without any solid reason residents are alleging one another’s community for the riots and ultimately this resulted into curfew.
“Some people tried to burn down our storehouse on Sunday night and despite several attempts, the police are not ready to hear us out,” said Ehsan, the brother of the owner. The police have denied all the allegations.
A week has passed but the tension is still continued in the area, for that RAF jawans were posted there immediately to calm the situation. Markets were closed from last 4 days, only few shops opened on Monday morning for the residents to purchase necessary things under the surveillance of RAF jawans.
The Delhi police chief also appealed to people to not pay any kind of attention to the rumors and warned against spread of misinformation.
