India's counter-terror force, the National Security Guard or NSG, has warned of a joint attack by Al Qaeda and ISIS or Islamic State on metropolitan cities. Serious concern over incidents of waiving of ISIS flag in Srinagar, BJP on Thursday said such actions should be dealt with strictly and the "threat" must not be "undermined". A top army commander in Kashmir had on Wednesday expressed concern about the recent display of ISIS flags in Srinagar.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had said that ISIS has no presence in his state. "You have to understand that no ISIS group has been identified so far in the Valley. The flag of the ISIS was waved by some idiots "he said.
“You have to understand that no ISIS group has been identified so far in the Valley. The flag of the ISIS was waved by some idiots which do not mean that ISIS has any presence in Kashmir. Unfortunately, some channels have tried to make an issue out of this and drag me into this as if we are not doing anything on this”, Omar had told reporters in New Delhi. Now that leaves us wondering “Isn’t this similar stand that we took some years back for other separatists?” By the way those outfits are now more important for Pakistan delegates visiting India, than External Affairs ministry.
The BJP leader said, "Had J&K government acted on the day the ISIS recruits and idolisers raised their ugly heads and crushed them with heavy hands, things in the Valley today would have been somewhat different". While those are strong words and its easier said, there has to be a plan to counter the increasing focus of these terror organisations due to the neighbours’ influence.
"Terrorist groups from across the Line of control, like the Lashkar, Jaish, Harqat and IM, if they have a strong bond with ISIL or Al-Qaeda, then there will be a higher level of threat. The apprehension that we have is that if they do have a combined kind of strategy," said NSG Director General JN Choudhury today.
It is quite amazing situation that DG NSG is giving out such an intelligence appreciation on his own! Where have RAW & IB gone? Our Intelligence department and defence should become alert now and need to take some deep actions against these terror attacks so that once again our country shall not face any harbour condition. This kind of waving of their flags on border is unfortunately creating terror in the heart of the natives and Indians at large.
It is serious matter, fire should be controlled and smarter actions should be taken. ISIS doesn’t have any ideology. They just want Blood and are a threat to civilizations. No religions teach to kill anyone and still they are able to generate fanfare around the globe among vulnerable youngsters. It is simple to understand that terrorists are like a cancer to the society. It should be treated like a serious disease. We have the results that what has happened to Iran and Syria.
We ask Government and Citizen to take hardest action again anyone who supports ISIS.
